Rising Stars Academy
Rising Stars Academy is a post-secondary school for young adults ages 18-26 dedicated to the advancement of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
We provide hands-on education in a work-based learning program to equip students with the necessary skills to gain and maintain employment and function as productive citizens.
Gather + Grounds
Our beautiful Gather + Grounds coffee shops in Center Line and Richmond provide a safe environment for Academy students to socialize and learn critical job skills, all under the expert supervision and guidance of vetted staff.
Gather + Grounds serves the larger community as a cafe and gathering space while empowering students with life skills and social experiences to enhance their autonomy.
H.O.M.E. Hub
H.O.M.E. Hub is a community mental health program that provides job training, exploration, placement, and professional skill building in Center Line and Richmond, MI.
We offer a safe, equitable, and diverse learning environment where participants focus on high achievement and lifelong success through learning opportunities, hands-on experience, and interpersonal skill development.
Detroit Wing Company
Rising Stars Academy students gain professional job skills training at our Detroit Wing Company facility in Roseville. They also currently make four wing sauces for DWC Corporate.
Through this valuable partnership, students have an incredible opportunity to train for future employment. They develop the skills that employers want, explore career options, and build industry-specific skills.
Tiny Hills Park Golf Course
Park Golf is a relaxing form of golf and croquet for all ages and abilities. The concept originated in Japan and focuses on harmony with other players in a park-like setting.
Located behind Rising Stars Academy, Tiny Hills is open to the public. Watch for our resident rooster, Tiny, who roams the course hills. Enjoy soft drinks and delicious chicken tenders from our onsite student-run food trailer. This fun, recreational environment fosters community and interpersonal skills.
Don Campbell Memorial Bakery
The young adults in our programs explore various baking and pastry techniques to become more employer competitive.
Young adults master baking bread, desserts, pastries and confections under the expert supervision and tutelage of Chef Andy, our Executive Pastry Chef. These delicious confections are available to purchase onsite at the bakery.
RSAF Production Facility
At our production facility, young adults proudly make, bake, pipe, bag, box, and seal a variety of food items, such as dressings, sauces, and french fries, for various food establishments, including restaurant groups and chains.
Located at Rising Stars Academy, our students and program participants are introduced to the world of food manufacturing and processing.
