Students are getting more opportunities with the RSA’s latest expansion projects. RSA opened a new Gather + Grounds in Ferndale, in addition to their locations in Center Line and Richmond. Within the same month, RSA navigated another major acquisition — one that continues the legacy of a beloved restaurant in Center Line: Haney's Family Restaurant.

A huge thank you to the Detroit News for covering the opening of Gather + Grounds West in Ferndale! We are thrilled to bring more great coffee, community, and inclusivity to this amazing city.
Rising Stars Academy, a post-secondary school for adults with special needs, has opened a third location of its Gather + Grounds coffee shop.
Serving coffee drinks and pastries, Gather + Grounds debuted Thursday within Treat Dreams ice cream shop at 22965 Woodward in Ferndale. There are other Gather + Grounds locations in Center Line and Richmond where RSA students are able to gain confidence, job skills and experience working with the public.

Through this collaboration, our students at Rising Stars Academy are gaining valuable hands-on experience in food production and developing critical career skills in the food industry. From growing micro-greens in our aquaponics farm to baking fresh focaccia and pie crusts, we’re empowering adults with disabilities to thrive in the workforce.

I went behind the counter to find out more. From learning how to properly bread chicken tenders to frying them up, the interns at Detroit Wing Company in Roseville are learning it all and doing it with pride.
